severe thunderstorm warning in effectAt 10:12 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.This line of severe thunderstorms is located from Lady Evelyn Smoothwater Provincial Park to 15 kilometres southeast of West Nipissing to 8 kilometres west of Rosseau, moving northeast at 40 km/h. Hazard: Rainfall amounts of 50 mm.Locations impacted include:North Bay, West Nipissing, Sturgeon River Provincial Park, Obabika River Provincial Park, Keewaydin, Temagami River Provincial Park, Dunchurch, Marten River Provincial Park, W.J.B. Greenwood Provincial Park, Finlayson Point Provincial Park, Temagami, Restoule Provincial Park, Restoule, Kenny Forest Provincial Park, South Bay Provincial Park, Nipissing, Mikisew Provincial Park, Burk's Falls, South River and Powassan.###Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away.Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
