Air Quality Alert issued June 13 at 3:37PM CDT by NWS Memphis TNAQAMEGThe Shelby County Health Department has issued a Code Orange OzoneHealth Advisory effective for Shelby County Tennessee, CrittendenCounty Arkansas, and DeSoto County Mississippi, including the cityof Memphis that will remain in effect until sunset. This ozone healthadvisory is due to monitored ozone values that are unhealthy forsensitive groups. These values have exceeded the EnvironmentalProtection Agency's federal safe health standard. The Shelby CountyHealth Department recommends that sensitive groups which includeactive children and adults, and people with respiratory disease,such as asthma, limit prolonged outdoor exertion. Please continue tocheck the latest air quality forecasts and updates until monitoredvalues return to safe levels.
