Excessive Heat Warning issued June 5 at 2:08AM PDT until June 7 at 9:00PM PDT by NWS San Diego CA* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 105expected.* WHERE...Apple and Lucerne Valleys.* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 9 PM PDT Friday.* IMPACTS...Extreme heat will significantly increase thepotential for heat related illnesses, particularly for thoseworking or participating in outdoor activities.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Not quite as hot on Friday.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay outof the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Youngchildren and pets should never be left unattended in vehiclesunder any circumstances.Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Whenpossible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning orevening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing whenpossible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the OccupationalSafety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequentrest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
