Red Flag Warning issued June 16 at 11:45PM PDT until June 18 at 8:00AM PDT by NWS Hanford CA...A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE KERN COUNTY MOUNTAINSAND WEST HILLS FROM MERCED TO KERN COUNTY THROUGH MORNING THROUGH8 AM PDT TUESDAY MORNING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND VERY LOW RELATIVEHUMIDITY VALUES....Elevated fire weather conditions will continue in the KernCounty mountains, West Side Hills, and the San Joaquin Valleythrough Tuesday morning. Very strong Northwesterly to North windsand very low relative humidity values are forecast. The strongestwinds will occur tonight through Monday night.The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a Red FlagWarning, which is in effect until 8 AM PDT Tuesday.* AFFECTED AREA...The San Joaquin Valley.* WIND...The strongest winds will occur tonight through Mondaynight, with sustained northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph, withwind gusts near 30 mph.* HUMIDITY...Minimum relative humidity values of 15 to 20 percentwith local areas as low as 10 percent through the period.* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditionsare either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination ofstrong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures cancontribute to extreme fire behavior.
