Request to limit driving gas and diesel-powered vehicles is now in effect until at least 4 p.m. Saturday,June 22, 2024. Although showers and thunderstorms will limit ozonedevelopment on Friday, higher ozone is expected Saturday as theair heats up and dries out. The highest ozone concentrations onSaturday are likely for locations in and near the Denver metroarea, especially for southern and western locations during theafternoon and early evening hours.For areas included in thisadvisory that are not expected to reach the Unhealthy forSensitive Groups (USG) air quality designation, we request thatactivities, such as driving non-ZEV vehicles (i.e., gas ordiesel), be reduced to lessen the impacts on neighboring airquality. Additional air pollution in this region may directlyworsen air quality or contribute to precursors which may alsoadversely affect air quality.
