Flood Watch issued May 13 at 3:50PM HST until May 17 at 8:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI...Flood Watch for the entire State of Hawaii Wednesday through atleast Friday...* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.* WHERE...All the main Hawaiian islands.* WHEN...From Wednesday morning through Friday evening.* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow ofstreams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, alongwith property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff.Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- A kona low developing north of the state will bring thepotential for a prolonged period of heavy rain andthunderstorms over portions of the state from Wednesdaythrough Friday and likely continuing through the weekend.Bands of heavy rain will bring a potential for significantflooding, especially in leeward areas.You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take actionshould Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Flood Advisory issued May 13 at 3:12PM HST until May 13 at 6:15PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.* WHERE...The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County.* WHEN...Until 615 PM HST.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and instreams.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 306 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over portions ofwindward and southeastern Big Island, where rain was fallingat a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Heavy showers are nearlystationary over Pahala, causing rapid water rises in PaauauGulch. Additional heavy showers are also near Hakalau, whilemore widespread moderate rain prevails elsewhere.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Hilo, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Honokaa, Volcano, Glenwood,Mountain View, Papaikou, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park,Keaau, Hawaiian Acres, Pepeekeo, Honomu, Orchidlands Estates,Hakalau, Ninole, Laupahoehoe and Wood Valley.Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas proneto flooding.This advisory replaces the previous advisory that was in effect forthe island of Hawaii in Hawaii County.
