Flood Watch issued May 16 at 3:17AM HST until May 17 at 8:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR NIIHAUKAUAI OAHU MOLOKAI LANAI AND MAUI...* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Kauai, Niihau, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe, and Maui.* WHEN...Through Friday evening.* IMPACTS...Significant flooding may occur due to the overflow ofstreams and drainages. Roads in several areas may be closed, alongwith property damage in urban or low lying spots due to runoff.Landslides may also occur in areas with steep terrain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- A kona low north to northwest of the state will bring thepotential for heavy rain and thunderstorms through at leastFriday. The highest chance for excessive rainfall appears tobe over Kauai and Oahu through Friday.
