Flood Watch issued May 10 at 3:28AM HST until May 11 at 6:00AM HST by NWS Honolulu HI...FLOOD WATCH FOR THE STATE OF HAWAII THROUGH 6 AM SATURDAY...* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall remainspossible.* WHERE...All the main Hawaiian islands.* WHEN...Through late tonight.* IMPACTS...Flood prone roads and other low lying areas may beclosed due to elevated runoff and overflowing streams. Urban areasmay receive more significant flooding and property damage due torapid runoff. Remember, flash flooding can occur well downstream.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- The threat for strong to severe thunderstorms and heavyrainfall will continue across the state through tonight as astrong upper level disturbance settles southward over thearea. Conditions will steadily improve from west to eastlater tonight through Saturday as this upper disturbancedrifts eastward.Remember that it does not have to be raining at your location forflash flooding to occur. If you notice signs of heavy rain orthunderstorms upslope, move quickly away from flood prone areas.You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take actionshould Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

High Surf Advisory issued May 10 at 3:48AM HST until May 10 at 6:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR SOUTH FACING SHORES OF ALL HAWAIIANISLANDS UNTIL 6 PM HST TODAY....A long-lived south swell will affect the islands into theweekend, keeping south shore surf at the High Surf Advisorythreshold of 10 feet through this afternoon.* WHAT...Large breaking waves of 7 to 10 feet along south-facingshores.* WHERE...South-facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands.* WHEN...Until 6 PM HST this afternoon.* IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currentswill make swimming dangerous.Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don'tgo out.
