Air Quality Alert issued June 16 at 2:51PM EDT by NWS Indianapolis INThe officials at the Office of Sustainability for the City ofIndianapolis have called for a Knozone Action Day, which remains INEFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EDT TONIGHT.A Knozone Action day means that a combination of high temperatures,light winds, and other factors are expected to produce conditionswhere high levels of ozone emissions may exceed federally mandatedstandards.Ozone levels are expected to be in the Unhealthy for SensitiveGroups range. Active children and adults, and people withrespiratory disease, such as asthma should limit prolonged outdoorexposure.Here are some recommended actions that the public can take:* Walk, bike, carpool or use public transportation.* Avoid using the drive-through and combine errands into one trip.* Avoid refueling your vehicle or using gasoline-powered lawnequipment until after 7pm.* Turn off your engine when idling for more than 30 seconds.* Conserve energy by turning off lights or setting the airconditioner to 75 degrees or above.For additional information, please visit the IDEM Smog page at:https://apps.idem.in.gov/smogwatch
