Flash Flood Warning issued June 21 at 5:51AM CDT until June 21 at 9:30AM CDT by NWS Sioux Falls SDAt 551 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicatedthunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing orexpected to begin shortly.HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poordrainage and low-lying areas.Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...Sioux Center, Sheldon, Sibley, Hull, Hartley, Sanborn, Primghar,Boyden, Hospers, Ocheyedan, Ashton, Melvin, Harris, Archer,Matlock, Bigelow and Moneta.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize thedangers of flooding.Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or lawenforcement and request they pass this information to the NationalWeather Service when you can do so safely.
