Flood Watch issued May 21 at 1:35PM CDT until May 21 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WIThe first round of precipitation is over and brought widespreadrainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches, heaviest near Austin to ByronMinnesota and across all of northeast Iowa. There have been reportsof ponding of water and small creeks exceeding their banks.Additional rainfall amounts this evening are expected to be aroundan inch. Storms are expected to be fast moving, which will limit theflash flood threat, but ponding of water in poor drainage areas isexpected.* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Portions of Iowa, including the following counties,Allamakee, Chickasaw, Clayton, Fayette, Floyd, Howard, Mitchelland Winneshiek and southeast Minnesota, including the followingcounties, Dodge, Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Wabasha andWinona.* WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT this evening.* IMPACTS...Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with moreheavy rain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- A round of precipitation this morning brought widespread 1 to3 inches of rain.
