Flood Warning issued April 28 at 9:10PM CDT until April 29 at 9:30AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.* WHERE...A portion of Southeast Kansas, including the followingcounties, Allen, Elk, Greenwood, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson.* WHEN...Until 930 AM CDT Monday.* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lyingand flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roadsremain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due toexcess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings areinundated with water and may not be passable.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 909 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in thewarned area. Between 3 and 9 inches of rain have fallen.Many roads are still impassable and include two U.S.Highways.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Parsons, Chanute, Iola, Eureka, Neodesha, Fredonia, Humboldt,Yates Center, Erie, Madison, St. Paul, La Harpe, Gas, Moran,Thayer, Altoona, Longton, Toronto, Hamilton and Severy.Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly twofeet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don'tdrown.
