Flood Warning issued April 28 at 12:43PM CDT until April 28 at 9:30PM CDT by NWS Wichita KSThis warning replaces the previous areal flood warnings acrossSoutheast Kansas.* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring.* WHERE...A portion of Southeast Kansas, including the followingcounties, Allen, Elk, Greenwood, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson.* WHEN...Until 930 PM CDT Sunday.* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lyingand flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roadsremain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due toexcess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings areinundated with water and may not be passable.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 1237 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding inthe warned area. Between 3 and 9 inches of rain have fallen.- Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible inthe warned area.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Parsons, Chanute, Iola, Eureka, Neodesha, Fredonia, Humboldt,Yates Center, Erie, Madison, St. Paul, La Harpe, Gas, Moran,Thayer, Altoona, Longton, Toronto, Hamilton and Severy.Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly twofeet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don'tdrown.

It will then fall belowflood stage early Tuesday afternoon.- Flood stage is 23.0 feet.Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly twofeet of water will carry most vehicles away.
