Sensitive groups, such as people with lungdisease (including asthma), heart disease, and children and olderadults, may experience health effects.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavy smoke will linger across southernMinnesota and the Twin Cities metro though the day on Monday.This band of smoke will slowly drift to the south throughout theday and air quality will begin improving from north to southwithin the alert area. Air quality should improve across the TwinCities metro during the afternoon and the rest of southernMinnesota can expect improving air quality by the end of the day.Sensitive groups, such as people with lung disease (includingasthma), heart disease, and children and older adults, shouldavoid prolonged or heavy exertion. The general public shouldlimit prolonged or heavy exertion.Reduce or eliminate activities that contribute to air pollution,such as outdoor burning, and use of residential wood burningdevices.
