Hydrologic Outlook issued May 30 at 12:37PM MDT by NWS Missoula MTESFMSOWhere: Lincoln, Sanders, and Mineral counties in Montana. Clearwaterand Idaho counties in Idaho.When: Monday and Tuesday early next week.What: An Atmospheric River is expected to bring high amounts ofmoisture resulting in moderate to heavy rainfall to areas of westernMontana and north-central Idaho early next week. The ClearwaterMountains in north-central Idaho currently have around a 60%probability of receiving at least 1" of rainfall in a 24hr periodfrom Monday to Tuesday. These probabilities are much lower forwestern Montana, around 20-30%. High elevation snowmelt coupledwith high surface moisture, along with expected rainfall, willincrease the risk for minor impacts due to rock and mudslides. Areasmall streams and creeks will also see a noticeable rise in waterlevels.Continue to monitor the forecast for updates as we progress throughthe weekend.
