Heat Advisory issued June 16 at 11:59AM EDT until June 18 at 10:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ* WHAT...Heat index values up to 100 expected.* WHERE...Western Monmouth, Ocean, and Southeastern BurlingtonCounties.* WHEN...From 10 AM to 10 PM EDT Tuesday.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heatillnesses.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The highest heat values will be displaced tothe western locations of each county. Along the shore,temperatures will be lower due to the sea breeze from the AtlanticOcean. This is the start of a prolonged period of excessive heatwith high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s through the week.The early season heat combined with the prolonged nature of theheat may cause heat related impacts that exceed anticipate heatillnesses or on heat sensitive infrastructure normally associatedwith a Heat Advisory.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke.
