Red Flag Warning issued May 22 at 1:33PM MDT until May 23 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 12PM THROUGH 8PM MDT THURSDAYFOR THE UPPER RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND LOWER CHAMA RIVER VALLEY ANDEASTERN NEW MEXICO DUE TO GUSTY WEST WINDS, EXTREMELY LOW HUMIDITYAND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE....Critical fire weather conditions are forecast across the UpperRio Grande Valley and Lower Chama River Valley and eastern NewMexico Thursday afternoon and evening. Stronger southwest to westwinds are expected south of a storm system moving across thenorthern and central Rockies with gusts up to 40 mph during theafternoon hours. West winds will bring in a drier airmass andcause relative humidity values to quickly plummet into the singledigits. In addition, the atmosphere is forecast to be unstablewith excellent mixing.The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red FlagWarning...which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Thursday.
