Fire Weather Watch issued May 19 at 1:48AM MDT until May 20 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGHMONDAY EVENING FOR WESTERN NM AS WELL AS THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDEVALLEY AND THE SANDIA AND MANZANO MOUNTAINS DUE TO STRONG WINDS,VERY LOW HUMIDITY AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE....Critical fire weather conditions are expected on Monday afternoonacross western and portions of central New Mexico. Strong west tosouthwest winds will increase in advance of an approachingdisturbance and surface winds may gust near 45 mph during theafternoon. Humidity recovery tonight will be poor to fair whichwill allow humidity values to quickly bottom out close to orwithin the single digits Monday afternoon. In addition, theatmosphere is forecast to be unstable with excellent mixing.Strong winds and low relative humidity values are also expectedacross eastern New Mexico, however recent rainfall amounts willmitigate the critical fire weather concerns.* AREA AND TIMING...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101), West CentralMountains (Zone 105), Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106) andthe West Central Basin and Range (Zone 109) from Mondayafternoon through Monday evening.* 20 FOOT WINDS...West to southwest 25 to 35 mph with occasionalgusts to 45 mph.* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...6 to 12 percent.* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.Outdoor burning is not recommended..Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in thefield of this Fire Weather Watch.
