Red Flag Warning issued June 13 at 6:00AM MDT until June 14 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa NM...CRITICAL FIRE DANGER EXPECTED FRIDAY....Wind speeds are expected to increase across western areas of NewMexico Friday as a weather system approaches from the west.Southwesterly winds of 15 to 25 mph will be common during theafternoon and evening hours. These winds will combine with veryhot and dry conditions resulting in an increase in fire dangeracross western fire zones including the Gila region along withsouthwest New Mexico.The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa hasissued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from noon to 8 PMMDT Friday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.* WIND...Southwest 15-25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.* HUMIDITY...7 to 10 percent lowlands and 8 to 12 percentmountains.* EXPERIMENTAL RFTI...5 to 6 Critical to Extreme* IMPACTS...any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.Outdoor burning is not recommended.A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditionsare either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination ofstrong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures cancontribute to extreme fire behavior.
