Flood Warning issued September 28 at 5:43AM EDT until September 28 at 11:00AM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.* WHERE...Central and Southern Pickens County, South Carolina* WHEN...Until 1100 AM EDT.* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lyingand flood-prone locations is occurring. Streams continue to risedue to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossingsare inundated with water and may not be passable.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 542 AM EDT, Streamgauges indicate many low-lying areas arestill trying to recover following extreme rainfallaccumulations across Pickens County. Twelemile Creek isreceding but remains above Minor Flood Stage, EighteenmileCreek is receding but remains above Action/Advisory Stage,and the small tributaries feeding the Saluda are likelyexperiencing backwater effects. Area low-lying areas willhave difficulty removing areas of residual flooding due tosaturated soils and there have been reports of isolatedoverland flow onto roadways making travel hazardous.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodTurn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
