Tropical Storm Warning issued September 26 at 5:08AM EDT by NWS Charleston SC* LOCATIONS AFFECTED- Hampton- Estill- Early Branch* WIND- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Below tropical storm force wind- Peak Wind Forecast: 15-25 mph with gusts to 50 mph- THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECASTUNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for wind 39to 57 mph- The wind threat has remained nearly steady from theprevious assessment.- PLAN: Plan for hazardous wind of equivalent tropical stormforce.- PREPARE: Remaining efforts to protect property should becompleted as soon as possible. Prepare for limited winddamage.- ACT: Move to safe shelter before the wind becomes hazardous.- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Limited- Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchoredmobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about.- Large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped oruprooted, but with greater numbers in places where treesare shallow rooted.- Some roads impassable due to debris, particularly withinurban or heavily wooded locations. Evacuations and rescuesare possible.- PREPARE: Consider protective actions if you are in an areavulnerable to flooding.- ACT: Heed any flood watches and warnings. Failure to takeaction may result in serious injury or loss of life.- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Significant- Moderate rainfall flooding could prompt some rescues.- Rivers and tributaries could quickly become swollen withswifter currents and overspill their banks in a few places,especially in normally vulnerable spots. Some road and bridgeclosures.* TORNADO- LATEST LOCAL FORECAST:- Situation is very favorable for tornadoes- THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECASTUNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for manytornadoes- The tornado threat has remained nearly steady from theprevious assessment.- PLAN: Emergency plans should include the potential for manytornadoes with some possibly intense having larger damagepaths.- PREPARE: Those living in manufactured homes or on boats areurged to relocate to safe shelter before hazardous weatherarrives.- ACT: Listen for tornado watches and warnings. If a tornadowarning is issued, be ready to shelter quickly.- POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Extensive- Numerous tornadoes can greatly hinder the execution ofemergency plans.- Tornadoes could produce pockets of extensive destruction,power loss, and communications failures.
