Heat Advisory issued June 4 at 2:11AM CDT until June 4 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX* WHAT...Heat index values up to 109 expected.* WHERE...Bell, Coryell, Falls, Lampasas, McLennan, Mills, Milam,and Robertson Counties.* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT this evening.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity will increase therisk for heat-related illnesses to occur, particularly for thoseworking or participating in outdoor activities.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children andpets should never be left unattended in vehicles under anycircumstances. Do not leave young children and pets in unattendedvehicles.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the OccupationalSafety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent restbreaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome byheat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke isan emergency! Call 9 1 1.
