Flood Watch issued May 5 at 11:57AM CDT until May 5 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Lake Charles LA* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the followingareas, Hardin, Lower Jefferson, Northern Jasper, Northern Newton,Northern Orange, Southern Jasper, Southern Newton, SouthernOrange, Tyler and Upper Jefferson.* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Scattered showers and storms are expected to develop throughthe afternoon. Showers and storms will be capable ofproducing heavy rainfall and high rainfall rates. Additionalrainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are expected with localizedamounts up to 5 inches possible. Treelimbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for highprofile vehicles. Use extra caution.
