Flood Watch issued May 2 at 2:30AM CDT until May 3 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Lake Charles LA* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes,Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Evangeline, Northern Calcasieu,Rapides and Vernon and southeast Texas, including the followingareas, Hardin, Northern Jasper, Northern Newton, Northern Orange,Southern Jasper, Southern Newton, Tyler and Upper Jefferson.* WHEN...Through Friday evening.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Area creeks andstreams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are set to moveacross southeast Texas and central Louisiana today andFriday. Shortwave trof moving across northeast Texas willsend these rounds into a deeply moist airmass feeding rightoff the Gulf consisting of PWATs 1.60 to 2.00 inches.Rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour will be possible andareas with ongoing flooding are urged to be mindful of veryswiftly exacerbated flooding conditions. Current forecastsindicate each line should move through the region ratherprogressively, move fairly progressively, however, anydeviation or slow-down of precipitation would possibly result in another 3 to 8inches of rain inside the flood watch area.
