Flood Watch issued May 2 at 12:04AM CDT until May 2 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...Portions of North and Central Texas, including thefollowing counties: Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Ellis, Falls,Freestone, Hamilton, Hill, Kaufman, Lampasas, Limestone, McLennan,Mills, Navarro, Anderson, Henderson, Leon, Van Zandt, Milam andRobertson.* WHEN...Through Thursday afternoon.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.Flooding may occur in poor-drainage and urban areas. Creeks andstreams may rise out of their banks.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches, with isolated higheramounts up to 5 inches. Also continue to monitor foradditional warnings should they be issued, especially inareas that have already seen excessive rainfall totals overthe last 12 to 24 hours.You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible FloodWarnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be preparedto take action should flooding develop.

Flood Warning issued May 2 at 9:46AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas...Navasota River near Normangee affecting Madison, Grimes andBrazos Counties.For the Navasota River...including Normangee...Major flooding isforecast.* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.This approaches the flood of record.* WHERE...Navasota River near Normangee.* WHEN...Until further notice.* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Major lowland flooding begins with massiveinundation of the flood plain as the river is close to 2 mileswide and OSR become inundated one half mile on the right bank and1.5 miles on the left bank.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 9:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 16.4 feet.- Bankfull stage is 12.0 feet.- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hoursending at 9:00 AM CDT Thursday was 16.4 feet.- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 24.0feet Saturday evening.- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of22.7 feet on 05/01/2009.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodMotorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drivecars through flooded areas.To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground.Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or lawenforcement and request they pass this information to the NationalWeather Service when you can do so safely.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
