Flood Watch issued May 3 at 8:31AM CDT until May 3 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the followingareas, Brazos, Burleson, Coastal Harris, Grimes, Houston, InlandHarris, Madison, Montgomery, Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto,Southern Liberty, Trinity, Walker, Waller and Washington.* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-watercrossings may be flooded.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- Model guidance suggests potential for heavier rains in thewatch area early today through this evening. Any furtherrainfall would at best slow the recession of existingfloodwaters, and at worst would aggravate this flooding.Saturated soils will result in a greater risk of flashflooding, even at rain rates that typically do not causeproblems in this area. 1-2 inches of new rainfall arepossible with isolated totals of up to 3-5 inches.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodYou should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible FloodWarnings. Flood Warning issued May 3 at 11:03AM CDT until May 3 at 6:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessiverainfall continues.* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the followingcounties, Chambers, Harris, Liberty and Montgomery.* WHEN...Until 600 PM CDT Friday.* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lyingand flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roadsremain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundatedwith water and may not be passable. Expect many areas of slowmoving or standing water. It will take several hours for all thewater from these storms to work through local drainage systems inurban areas. Local media have reported water rescues.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 1102 AM CDT, emergency management reported flooding in thewarned area. Flooding is already occurring. Between 2 and 5inches of rain have fallen today in addition to Thursday'srainfall.- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible inthe warned area.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Southern Conroe, Humble, Tomball, Liberty, Dayton, Kingwood,Spring, Aldine, Greater Greenspoint, The Woodlands, Crosby,Oak Ridge North, Shenandoah, Splendora, Patton Village, RomanForest, Woodbranch, Ames, Daisetta and Hardin.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodTurn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
