Flood Watch issued May 5 at 4:07AM CDT until May 5 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TXA new round of heavy rainfall is moving into the area from thenorthwest very early this morning, and will continue to make its wayacross Southeast Texas today. An additional 1 to 3 inches ofrainfall is expected across broad areas, with isolated higheramounts of 4 to 8 inches possible within the watch area. This maylead to flash flooding, especially in vulnerable areas, andexacerbate already swollen rivers and streams around the area.* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to bepossible.* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the followingareas, Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Chambers, Coastal Harris,Colorado, Grimes, Houston, Inland Harris, Madison, Montgomery,Northern Liberty, Polk, San Jacinto, Southern Liberty, Trinity,Walker, Waller and Washington.* WHEN...Through this evening.* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-watercrossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and floodingof creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams arerunning high and could flood with more heavy rain.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- A new round of heavy rainfall is moving into the area fromthe northwest very early this morning, and will continue tomake its way across Southeast Texas today. Because ofmultiple rounds of heavy rain over the past week, floodingmay be seen earlier than would be expected under typicalconditions. Flood Advisory issued May 5 at 6:53AM CDT until May 5 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessiverainfall is expected.* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the followingcounties, Brazos, Grimes, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, SanJacinto, Walker, Waller and Washington.* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or isimminent.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 653 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gaugesindicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will causeurban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches ofrain have fallen.- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expectedover the area.
