Heat Advisory issued June 26 at 2:08PM CDT until June 27 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS San Angelo TX* WHAT...Heat index values up to 107.* WHERE...Coke, Concho, Fisher, Irion, Jones, Nolan, Runnels,Sterling, Taylor, and Tom Green Counties.* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT Thursday.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heatillnesses.A Heat Advisory means that hot weather conditions are occurring orexpected. This will create a situation in which heat illnesses arepossible.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.Never, ever, leave children or pets alone in enclosed vehicles, noteven for a few minutes. Car interiors can reach lethal temperaturesin a matter of minutes.Stay indoors and seek air-conditioned buildings. Drink water morethan usual, and avoid dehydrating alcoholic, sugary, or caffeinateddrinks. Dress for the heat by wearing lightweight and light coloredclothing. Eat small meals and eat more often. Monitor those with ahigher vulnerability to heat, including small children. Check in onfamily, friends, and neighbors, especially the elderly. If engagingin outdoor activity, take longer and more frequent breaks and avoidthe hottest parts of the day.
