Excessive Heat Warning issued June 24 at 9:22AM MDT until June 25 at 11:00PM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 101, andpoor overnight recoveries with lows briefly touching the mid 70s.* WHERE...Eastern Juab/Millard Counties, Great Salt Lake Desert andMountains, Northern Wasatch Front, Salt Lake Valley, and UtahValley.* WHEN...Until 11 PM MDT Tuesday.* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly duringextreme heat events.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Carinteriors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke.To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety andHealth Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks inshaded or air conditioned environments.
