Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 4 at 9:06AM EDT until May 5 at 9:00AM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC* WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground levelexpected in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.* WHERE...Shoreline in the District of Columbia, ArlingtonCounty, and the City of Alexandria.* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 9 AM EDT Sunday, especiallyaround the time of high tide.* IMPACTS...Shoreline inundation is expected along portions ofthe seawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop Roadand near the Tidal Basin. Water is expected to approach thecurb near the intersection of King Street and Strand Street inAlexandria.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides one to one and a half feet abovenormal. The next high tide at Washington Channel is at 5:44 PMand 6:09 AM. The next high tide at Alexandria is at 6:02 PM and6:27 AM.If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may beclosed. Do not drive around barricades or through water ofunknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-proneproperty.
