Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 17 at 9:37PM EDT until May 18 at 7:00AM EDT by NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC* WHAT...Up to one half foot of inundation above ground levelexpected in low lying areas due to tidal flooding.* WHERE...Shoreline in the City of Alexandria and ArlingtonCounty.* WHEN...From 3 AM to 7 AM EDT Saturday, especially around thetime of high tide.* IMPACTS...Water is expected to approach the curb near theintersection of King Street and Strand Street in Alexandria.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides one and a half to two feet abovenormal. The next high tide at Alexandria is at 5:39 AM and 5:58PM.If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may beclosed. Do not drive around barricades or through water ofunknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-proneproperty.
