Coastal Flood Advisory issued May 15 at 2:50AM EDT until May 15 at 2:00PM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA* WHAT...Up to one foot of soundside inundation above groundlevel in low- lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.* WHERE...In North Carolina, Western Currituck and EasternCurrituck Counties, adjacent to the Currituck Sound. InVirginia, Virginia Beach, adjacent to Back Bay.* WHEN...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon.* IMPACTS...Shallow flooding is expected in the most vulnerablelocations near the waterfront and shoreline resulting in a lowthreat of property damage. Expect up to one foot of waterabove ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roadsand low lying property including parking lots, parks and lawnsnear the waterfront will experience shallow flooding.If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may beclosed. Do not drive around barricades or through water ofunknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-proneproperty.
