Flood Warning issued September 28 at 10:55AM EDT until September 28 at 1:00PM EDT by NWS Blacksburg VA* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessiverainfall continues.* WHERE...A portion of southwest Virginia, including the followingcounties and independent city, Carroll, City of Galax and Wythe.* WHEN...Until 100 PM EDT.* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lyingand flood-prone locations is occurring. Numerous roads remainclosed due to flooding. It will take several hours for all thewater from these storms to work through local drainage systems inurban areas.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 1049 AM EDT, Emergency management reported flooding isongoing. Between 6 and 9 inches of rain have fallen.- This includes the following streams and drainages...Brannon Branch, Brushy Fork, Buddle Branch, Brush Creek,Burks Fork, Brown Lick Branch, Ararat River and Big ReedIsland Creek.Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall isexpected.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Wytheville, Galax, Hillsville, Rural Retreat, Patterson, MaxMeadows and Fancy Gap.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/floodTurn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
