Heat Advisory issued June 18 at 8:47PM EDT until June 21 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV* WHAT...Heat index values up to 103.* WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, andcentral, northern, southern, and western West Virginia.* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT Friday.* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heatillnesses.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat stress increases with the number ofconsecutive hot days. While heat indices may be slightly lower onWednesday, values will rise on Thursday and again on Friday.Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out ofthe sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children andpets should never be left unattended in vehicles under anycircumstances.Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loosefitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morningor evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion andheat stroke.
